ACEO's

Art Cards Editions and Originals, or ACEO's for short, are the same size as the Artist Trading Cards,2 1/2" X 3 1/2", the only difference is that they are sold, not traded. This makes Art Cards available for those who'd rather purchase instead of make their own. Many people collect ACEO's and most are repeat buyers if they like your work.

The small size of the art cards is perfect for displaying. They can be framed in small frames and placed on the walls or they can be displayed in sports card books made for trading cards of all kinds. The ACEO's when framed make a beautiful display at trade shows and at home. The ACEO's created by the person who has an artistic manner often becomes famous in the field of trading cards. When a person becomes famous for their work then not only are the cards that they already have created but requests to make a particular type of card are very common.

ACEO'S are sometimes made in Editions which are numbered accordingly. Others are Original one of a kind, and some are limited edition prints which are sold for less money than the originals.

In reality, anyone can create an ACEO by gathering things that are lying around the house and putting him or her together in a collage on the card. The use of old magazines with unique pictures or designs is excellent for this idea. You can use left over art paper, string, buttons, a whole mirage of odds and ends placing them on the card into a design and voile your ACEO is completed.

The more artistic person might want to add his or her own etchings or writings. The use of the computer can create a design pattern for you that you may use by simply copying it onto the card. There are many different ways to create ACEO's without being an artist. The fun you are having in doing your creations is an important part of the craft and essential to helping you express your creative self.
